See latest news for updates on Oak Class' Residential trip

Dear Parents and Carers

This week started with a lot of excitement for the children, with the second bout of proper snow proving much more suitable for snowman building and snowball throwing. Well done to everyone who made it to school, including the staff.

It was good to see so many of the children at last night’s disco. Many thanks go to the PTFA for organising this and providing the refreshments. Although a governors’ meeting prevented me from joining them for more than a few minutes, they were obviously enjoying the Rocking and Rolling hugely!

Continuing the Rocking theme, well done to Chestnuts Class for this morning’s wonderful Class Assembly all about… rocks. They all spoke knowledgably about their learning, using some impressive technical vocabulary, and it’s clear they have enjoyed their science work this term. Thank you to everyone who came along to support them.

Many of the children have been busy in school writing poems and painting pictures which will be entered in the children’s classes for the Garden Club Show. If they are planning to enter their own Lego garden or ‘arrangement in a recycled container’, please take them to the Village Hall at East Stour between 9:00am and 10:30am. Good Luck, everyone!

This week’s Stars of the Week:

Conkers: Phoebe for talking about different ways of keeping healthy.

Acorns: Oscar for knowing how to eat healthily

Chestnuts: Ollie for showing awareness of keeping safe on the internet.

Oaks: Henry M for demonstrating a good understanding of how to keep himself healthy

Well done to all the children.

Don’t forget that next Thursday, 29th March, is an INSET Day so there will be no school for the children. During the day, the staff will be reviewing the work done this term and making plans for next term and beyond. It is an exciting time for the school as we can look ahead to developing the curriculum, enhancing the buildings and grounds and putting into practice our motto – Together We Grow!

The Easter Holiday begins immediately after the INSET Day. I hope you all have a very relaxing and Happy Easter, and I look forward to welcoming you all back to school for the Summer Term on Monday, 16th April.

With best wishes

James Stanford
