Dear Parents and Carers

This has been a short week but we still have plenty of news.

Well done to children from Years 2 and 3 who went to Gillingham School on Wednesday to take part in the Multiskills Festival. It was a very successful event by all accounts and the children, as always, were a credit to our school.

Parents’ Forum
Our Parents’ Forum yesterday covered a lot of good ground, reviewing your views of the school as recorded on the most recent Parents’ Survey and looking at both what we are doing now, and what we would like to develop over the next few years. Knowing your views is very important to us as it helps us make sure our school is doing the best it can, and to shape its direction for the future. We are always looking to increase the number of families involved in these forums, so please note details of the next meeting taking place on Thursday 28th June.

Road Safety
We have recently had some very successful Bikeability training, with level two for some children taking place after half term. It is good to see so many of these children riding their bikes to school, but please be particularly aware of them as you drive along the lanes to and from school, and when driving on the school car park.

Assessment
Next week, our oldest children will be taking their statutory tests (SATs), and over the next couple of weeks we will be carrying out summer term assessments with most of the other children. Please encourage them to do their best, and help them by promoting early nights, calm mornings and hearty breakfasts – all proven to help mental agility.

Please note, all diary dates are put onto the calendar on the school website which you can ‘sync’ to your phone by clicking on the Subscribe button on the calendar page.
