Starting at Stower Provost
Most children start their new school in September. However, children can start a new school at any
time during the course of the year.
A new school can make you feel a little scared, as the buildings may be new to you, and the people
inside unknown, however you will find there are lots of people to help you, and others with whom to
make friends.
At Stower Provost Community School we wear a uniform, so we all look similar and feel part of a
team.
Each morning parents, carers and children enter through the back gate and gather in the
playground. We then go into school in class groups. You will hang up your coat and bag on your
peg, which is named, and then go into your classroom.
Your class teacher will help you get to know where everything is in your classroom and teach you
interesting things.
Classes have their own play areas, that you might access to work or play in. At Stower Provost there
is a big playground and a field to play on during break and after lunch.
We eat our lunch in the Hall. The hall is also used for games, assemblies and other activities.
Sometimes there are rooms in school that you may not go into very often, however you still need to
know where and what they are. There is the staff room, the office, the library, the willow room and
the yew room, to name a few.
We are really excited about welcoming you to Stower Provost.
