SEN
Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
At Stower Provost, we are a small school characterised by a friendly, flexible and close-knit community. We are committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where all children can reach their full potential.
Our SEN provision is rooted in strong relationships with the children, staff and parents. The staff know all the children very well and concerns are spotted quickly to allow for early intervention. The SENCo works closely with the class teachers, support staff and parents to create a consistent and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Provision is adapted to ensure accessibility to suit the needs of all children within the class, such as the use of visual supports, scaffolding, adapted sheets and multi-sensory approaches. The small-school setting allows for flexible grouping, responsive teaching, close monitoring and targeted support for those identified.
We have a strong partnership with external agencies, who support us to deliver more tailored interventions to individuals.
Our whole school ethos of inclusion is embedded through our school culture. All staff promote positive attitudes towards diversity and difference, ensuring children with SEN feel valued and supported and have a sense of belonging at Stower Provost.
