Newsletter 19
February 24, 2017 Sandy Pike

Dear All

It has been a very busy first week back after the break. This edition of the newsletter contains notices of up and coming events.  If you are unsure of any events coming up please check the website as this has all previous newsletters and the school calendar. There are still a few parents not signed up to parent mail please see Mrs Pike in the office to ensure you receive your newsletter electronically as this has proved a great success.

This week I had the pleasure of taking 21 children from Years 2 to 6 to a dance festival at Mere School. They performed a ‘Street Dance’. Eight local primaries took part, with a total of 153 children dancing throughout the morning. Well done to all the children that took part they did the school and themselves proud.

Also this week the Hockey Team took on Milton on Stour Primary in a couple of hockey matches in preparation for the Gillingham Area Hockey Festival next week. They competed well and had a good warm up match. Well done to all that took part. Photos of both events are on the website home page.

Kind regards

Martin Marshall

And Finally …

Fancy a dip whilst raising some money? The Blackmore Vale Lions Swimarathon 2017 is taking place at Clayesmore School pool on Saturday 1st April. In previous years, this has proved a successful fundraiser for the school through swimmers raising sponsorship.  The final amount raised, half goes to the Lions chosen charities and the other half comes to our school.   We need a team of 6 adult swimmers, which Mrs Carter has kindly agreed to lead. The aim is for the team to swim in a continuous relay for 55 minutes to cover as many lengths as possible. We would also like to enter a children’s team, so if you or your offspring – or both – would like to take part then please let us know!
