Oaks class assembly 22.10.15
October 22, 2015 Ailsa Boardman Hirst

This morning we shared the learning we have done.

We started by listening to Khali, Thea, Rowan and Ella playing their clarinets.

We have been reading and enjoying the Michael Morpurgo story The Wreck of the Zanzibar. We have learnt lots of ‘Scilly’ facts.

Ella and Jess read their book reviews to set the scene for the story.

We then re-told the story through drama and narration in small groups.

We also wrote diary entries.

We also learnt nautical terms and their meanings like sail, steam ship, tide, shallows, funnel, current, quay, pilot and island.

We also re-wrote Laura’s  diary entry from Billy’s point of view.

In poetry we wrote our own seasonal poems.

Connor also received his bronze certificate – the first bronze certificate for the whole school! Well done Connor.
