Dear All,

What a great week it has been at Stower Provost School! A fantastic assembly on Friday by Oaks class, based around the work they had done on the Poem, The Highwayman. The pupils showed off their skills in literacy, drama, recital, presentation and speaking in public. After the assembly some parents stayed for the internet safety chat, those that stayed found it very informative and fed back that they hoped that more parents would attend in future. There will be a chance to find out about keeping your child safe on line after every class assembly this term. Please feel free to come along, it does not need to be your child’s assembly for you to stay. The presentation lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. There is even tea and coffee! It must be worth an hour of your time to keep your child safe! The week ends tomorrow with the school having an Art Day as part of the Art Attack theme. Each class will be producing a large piece of art work to be displayed in the hall, I can’t wait to see the results. These will form part of the ‘Art Gallery’ in the Curriculum Showcase after half term.

Let’s hope all enjoy the Valentines Disco.

Kind regards

Martin Marshall

And Finally……

As we are an Eco School it is good to find more and more ways to be more environmentally friendly and time and energy efficient. One way we can achieve this in school, is if we try using less paper. We would like to encourage as many of you as possible to register for the newsletter to be emailed to you every week. All you have to do is register on the website by scrolling to the bottom of any page and filling in your email address and pressing sign up. It really is that simple!

Competition Reminder!

On March 14th it is Commonwealth Day and as a school we will be joining in the celebrations. As part of the celebrations we will be raising the commonwealth flag on our brand new Flag Pole. We thought it would be great to have a child from our school to be the ‘flag raiser’. To be the flag raiser you have to design and create a Commonwealth Day Doodle. The creator of the best design will be the lucky person to help raise the flag on the day. Entries back to the office by Friday 26th February please.
