Dear Parents

The first assembly of term featured a plethora of certificates from outside of school. Keanu and Adam had souvenirs of their parts in ‘Annie’ at Shaftesbury Arts Centre, Annie had completed a mile run, Rocco, Leo, Matilda, Daniel, Liam and Owen all showed swimming certificates whilst our ‘Stars of the Week’ were Ellie, George and Archie. Gold Certificates for 30 stars went to Darren, Rio and Jago. Some 20 children had completed all or part of the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’.

And talking of the ‘Three Peaks Challenge’, the PTFA says ‘Well done’ to those who have been out climbing. There’s still time to complete all three peaks or even just have a go at one. How about an after-school or week-end stroll up a hill? Don’t forget to send in photos of children at the top of the hills if you can. These will be added to the display in the school hall. You have until Sunday 21st May…..have fun!

There is a monthly fundraising coffee morning in Kington Magna village hall with a raffle and second hand stall. Thanks to Mrs Pattison, the next one will benefit the school! It will be on Wednesday 17th May at 10:30am. Donations of cakes or items for sale would be welcome and may be given in at the school office on Tuesday 16th May. Why not pop along and enjoy the refreshments?

SATs. Yes the time for the end of Year 6 tests has arrived again. They take place from Monday to Thursday next week (8th to 12th May). Please don’t be away! End of Year 2 tests will also take place during May, although the timetable for these is much more flexible. Parents of both year groups should have received an information leaflet, and Year 6 have a timetable in their diaries. If any parents have any concerns or queries, please feel free to speak to Mrs Burpitt or Mr Covell.
