Dear All,

Thank you to all that attended the Creative Curriculum Showcase, it was great to see so many friends of the school there. I hope you enjoyed the Art Gallery, all the children’s work looked fantastic. We are hoping to put some of the work that was on display around the school for everyone to enjoy. We also had a good turnout for the internet safety talk. There are two more opportunities if you missed it, they are after Conkers and Chestnuts assembly. Remember anyone can attend.

I had the privilege of taking the ‘Stower Rangers’ street dancers to the Gillingham Area Dance Festival last Thursday at Mere School. They performed in front of over 150 children and teachers. For some it was the first time they had performed in public, so quite a nerve racking experience. They were fantastic, the panel of critiques had very positive comments about the routine. A performance to be really proud of. ‘Stower Rangers’ will perform again in June at the Dorset Games opening ceremony! A great honour and I look forward to that.

I finish with a very special mention to the Year 3/4 football team who went to a very wet, windy and extremely cold Gillingham family festival yesterday. Despite being the smallest school to enter, limited practice and with a minimum squad of six, due to illness, they put on a spirited performance and never once complained about the miserable conditions. The enthusiasm shown and the improvement made throughout the afternoon left everyone watching very proud of their endeavours. If there are any parents out there willing and able to help develop our football teams for the future I would love to hear from you!

Lets hope the weather warms up soon.

Kind regards

Martin Marshall

And Finally…… A REMINDER

As you are aware we take the safety and welfare of your child at the school extremely seriously. It is for this reason that I ask that it is paramount that you use myself or the TA on the front door of the school in the morning as your first line of communication and that if you wish to speak to a teacher you need to ‘check in’ with them first or make an appointment to see a member of staff. We cannot have adults roaming the school that we cannot account for and that could compromise the safety of the children. None of us, I’m sure, want that! Your cooperation in this is greatly appreciated.
