Dear Parents and Carers

It has been good to be involved in the Children in Need Fundraising event today. The non-uniform day raised a fantastic £127.59 which will be sent off to the organisers, adding to what will, I’m sure, be a phenomenal total. Well done and thank you to everyone involved.

Thank you also to everyone who took advantage of our Bags to School fundraiser and had a mid-autumn clear-out. For collecting together a few bags of old clothes, we have raised an easy £77 for school funds.

The PTFA are busy organising the end of term activities. I hope you and the children will join us in the wide range of events as we head towards Christmas. Some of these are fund-raisers, some are purely for fun, but all are for the benefit of the children. Thank you to everyone involved in making such a positive difference to our school.

Movie Night Friday 23rd November.

Christmas Jumper Day Thursday 6th December.

Christmas Bazaar Friday 14th December (volunteers needed for stalls)

One extra way funds can be raised is by using the Easy Fundraising scheme. When buying anything from a wide range of on-line shops, if you view them via our Easy Fundraising page, the school raises money for every purchase made, and it doesn’t cost you any extra. We made a staggering £400 plus last year, with no extra effort, so I do encourage you to support the school in this way.

After School Club – Stower Vale Pre-School

As of December 1st, the hourly fee will be £4.50, this brings it in line with the current rate for fee paying children within the preschool.  They also now accept children from 2 years old. Afterschool Club is available every weekday and is great fun!

Stars of the Week

This week we have awarded our Stars of the Week Certificates to:

Hazel Class – Tristan, for trying really hard during playtimes

Chestnut Class – Penelope for focusing quietly on her work.

Oak Class – Ruby, for challenging herself during Maths activities

Well done to all the children.

On Wednesday next week, I am unable to run the early morning Year 6 Maths Club.  The club will be running again from 28th November – open to all children in Year 6.

Next Friday, 23rd November, is Chestnut Class Assembly – I hope you will be able to come in to share the work they have been doing this term.

With best wishes

James Stanford
