Dear Parents and Carers

The children have had an exciting first week back after the half term holiday, with a significant amount of discussion about quantities of sweets eaten on Wednesday evening being heard on the playground…

It was lovely to see so many parents, relatives and friends at this morning’s Oak Class Assembly; I hope you enjoyed hearing about their adventures at Beam House before the holiday. They were a super group to take away and it was brilliant to see their confidence grow over the three days. Their memory for the songs and chants is amazing, and we’re looking forward to tapping into this as we head towards Christmas and think about next Summer’s production. Our next class assembly will be Chestnut class on Friday 23rd November.

It has also been good to see so many of you at this afternoon’s Creative Curriculum Showcase. The children have done some fabulous work relating to their topic; their creativity and imagination and your support is all truly impressive. Thanks go to the PTFA for organising the refreshments and uniform sale.

Some of our older children have missed the Showcase due to representing the school at the local schools’ Swimming Gala – the results are not known at the time of writing but I am sure they will do the school proud. Good luck also to the netball team who will be in action next week.

Coming home soon is your child’s data sheet. Please check it carefully, especially contact details including mobile phone numbers, and return it as soon as possible.

Please keep checking the names in your children’s clothes; with the weather still fluctuating from bitterly cold to unseasonably warm, jumpers are frequently taken off, and it can be difficult to return them to their owners.

Forest School next week will change groups from Year 6 to Year 5 and half of Year 4 in the morning and they will have their first session on Tuesday 6th November, until the end of term. The key stage one groups will continue as usual.

Please remember to order your Christmas Cards by midnight today!

Bags2school collection on Thursday 15th November.

With best wishes
