Last Friday, our ‘Stars of the Week’ were Monty, Joel, Noah and all of Year 2 – for working well in their end of KS1 tests. Bronze Certificates were awarded to Jamie, Summer, Thomas, Monty and Serena with Silvers to Katie, Belle, Tilly and Serena and a brace of Golds to Hannah and Archie. A Silver Reading Certificate was presented to Owen. Well done all!

Visitors and visits: This Tuesday, a team lead by Mr and Mrs Beeson involved all the children in assembling a mosaic Fleur de Lys inspired by the history of Stour Provost. This will eventually find itself installed as the floor of the retired phone box in the village as the community creates the ‘smallest museum in Dorset’. The children enjoyed being involved, and hopefully some will remember that 332=1089!

On Wednesday the whole school (not all at once though) descended on Lyde Hill Farm to learn more about where milk comes from and how it gets to us. It was a fascinating and informative visit. The Trim family had obviously put a lot of preparation into this, helped by some scone-making parents. We hope to have a display about the visit with children’s writing on the ‘long board’ in the corridor by the time of the Creative Curriculum Showcase. Thank you to all who worked to make this visit a success.

Also on Wednesday, it was the last session of Soccer Linguistics for Oaks. The tray of doughnuts made a very popular finale to the course. Thanks to Mark and his team from YTFC.

The Creative Curriculum Showcase will be on the first Friday after the half-term break. We’re looking forward to seeing the children’s home learning!

Swimming: Hopefully, by the time you read this, most of the children will have had their first swimming session. There will be a letter about after-school swimming just after the half-term break.

We hope that you have enjoyed the Three Peaks Challenge and if there are any outstanding sponsorships please bring them in after half-term.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a lovely half-term.
