Dear Parents and Carers

Many of you will have heard of the school’s success at the Shaftesbury Carnival last weekend, winning its class. Twenty-six children from the Primary School and Pre-School, along with many parents, took part in the procession, and they all looked brilliant, were a real credit to the school and had a super time. I would like to thank all the children and parents who put in so much work to make their costumes, and who joined in to make it such a good day. I would like to say particular thanks to Sam Wattridge and Nikki Tynan for all of their efforts and all of the after school Carnival Club sessions they ran to produce such a wonderful display. Certificates and a superb trophy were presented in assembly this morning.

The preparations for the Autumn Ball are forging ahead, with a fantastic range of raffle prizes and Auction items. If you have not yet bought your tickets for the ball, please contact Claire Heasman on 07968 709632

On Tuesday, some of the children in Oak Class joined the Reception children to plant a very special oak tree. Grown from an acorn from Windsor Great Park to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th Birthday, the tree was presented to the children by the Dorset Gardens Trust. Still a very small sapling, it will be lovely to see it growing in our grounds.

Parents’ Evenings

It was good to see so many of you at parents’ evenings this week.  If you were unable to make a time with your child’s teacher, please don’t hesitate to contact them for an appointment.

This week’s Star Pupils

Congratulations to Eden, Oscar and Jessica for their work this week, particularly for showing kindness towards others. Congratulations to all the children.

Don’t forget that the Rotary Club Shoe Box Appeal continues, and that the boxes need to be in school by Monday 15th October at the latest.

With best wishes
